Heel pain treatment and diabetic foot care

Our Services

Routine foot care

An extensive range of foot disorders can be treated in our routine podiatry appointments. Rather than just relieving pain temporarily, treatment aims to correct problems where possible.

Diabetic foot care

People with diabetes have a high risk for many types of foot health problems. Without early detection and treatment, diabetic foot problems can lead to infection and amputation.

Biomechanics

If you are experiencing pain in your lower limbs or feet, and no cause has been established, the first step is to perform a biomechanical assessment.
This examination helps us understand the root of your problem

Fungal / Verruca Treatments

Verrucas may go away on their own, but it can take months or even years for them to disappear. Treatment can help speed up the process and reduce the risk of spreading the virus to others

Nail surgery

With Johnston's Chiropodists and Podiatrists. We specialise in partial or total nail avulsion for our clients with severe or chronic ingrowing toe nails. Nail surgery is carried out under local anaesthetic - the piece of nail is removed and a chemical is used to stop regrowth.

Our Home Services

Home visits

As part of our Home visit appointments, we remove calluses and corns, file and cut nails. These appointments are carried out around Milton Keynes and its surrounding villages.

Care Home Visits

Our podiatrists and associates also offer care home visits for nail cutting, filing and removal of hard skin and callus for a discounted price.

Since July the 9th 2003 this title is defunct though is likely to be used by many podiatrists for the time being, as it may still be expected by the general public as a sign that the podiatrist is fully qualified. The current form of registration with the state is given by the new Health Professions Council ( for more information go to above link)

Some podiatrists may have other letters after their name that signify further qualifications, such as F.C.Pod(S) for surgery, but the above letters are important to know about when seeking treatment for the majority of ailments.

This usually takes 30 minutes – your podiatrist will take your medical history and inspect your feet. They will discuss your foot problem and advise on this and any other conditions that have been identified. Treatment will be commenced if appropriate.

Your toenails will be trimmed and any hard skin removed. Most people find that the treatment is pleasant and they feel more comfortable and relaxed as a result.

Even if your feet are in a good condition it is advisable to have an annual check-up and medical pedicure and benefit from the advice from a podiatrist in respect of your foot health and footwear.
